In caring for and rehoming the dogs in our rescue program we have many expenses and rarely do our adoption donation fees cover all of these expenses. We receive no government funding so we rely on fundraisers and your generous donations to help us cover these expenses.
Financial donations can be dropped off at Natural Pet Center or mailed
to us in care of Natural Pet Center at the below address. Please write checks
payable to '4 Luv of Dog Rescue'.

Fostering a dog can ABSOLUTELY save a life! 4 Luv of Dog has no shelter and is reliant upon a fostering network to provide temporary homes for our animals. Our dogs are kept in foster homes until they are placed in permanent happy homes of their own. Currently, we have very limited foster resources, and as a result we often have to turn animals in need away because there is no one to foster them.
Foster homes provide the love and shelter while 4 Luv of Dog pays for the food, and all medical expenses. A foster home is invaluable, because the foster parent gains insight to the dog's personality to help us better match them with the perfect home.
The average time an animal is usually fostered is several weeks; however, it could be as little as a few days or as much as a few months. Although we prefer the animal remain in one foster home until it finds a permanent home, we realize this is not always possible. Foster parents have the right to discontinue fostering at any time for any reason. So whether you can foster for a couple of days, weeks or months your services can be useful!
If you would like to become a foster home for us, please fill out a foster application. If you have questions about being a foster home, email our foster coordinator.
It takes a lot of resources to run a dog rescue program. We have put together a wish list of items we would very much appreciate to have donated to us.
| Kennels/Crates (all sizes) | Food & Water Bowls | Toys | Collars** & Leashes |
| Dog Beds | Treats | Stamps |
| Gift Certificates (Natural Pet Center, PetSmart, Petco, FleetFarm) |
Donations can be dropped off a Natural Pet Center, 3037 13th Avenue S, Fargo. You can also drop them off at our table during our "Meet the Dogs" events at PetSmart.
**Our rescue prefers the martingale style of collar as it helps to prevent the dog from slipping his head out of the collar while still being comfortable for the dog to wear.
Help us advertise our dogs needing homes! Please print out our monthly flyers
and post on local community bulletin boards (at work, grocery stores, gas
stations, etc). Click one of the images on the left to print the flyer.
There are two versions: one with tags and one without. The one with tags
will need you to cut the tags so that they can be easily torn off. Both
flyers are Adobe Acrobat files which you should be able to view and print
using a free Adobe Acrobat Reader.
We also appreciate financial donations to help us pay for advertisements
in local publications and our website expenses.
We now have an account with MinnKota Recycling. Please drop off your aluminum cans at one of their recycling centers and let them know you would like to donate the proceeds to the 4 Luv of Dog Rescue (acct #730-6107). Not only is recycling good for the environment, it can help our dogs too!
As you may not be aware, there is a need for assistance in the transporting of rescued animals through the Fargo/Moorhead area. Usually, transport assistance is needed to assist dogs from a shelter or rescue group to another shelter, rescue group, approved foster or approved forever home. There are a small number of individuals in the Fargo/Moorhead area that are assisting with transports. But, unfortunately the need is greater than these individual's schedules can accommodate for. Thus, we are looking for more volunteers.
Transports are usually broken into 60-120 mile 'legs'. Most transports through the Fargo/Moorhead area are Fargo/Moorhead from/to Alexandria, Grand Forks, Jamestown, or Watertown. Sometimes, only 1 animal needs transportation. Other times, a group (number depends on sizes) needs transportation.
Sometimes the animal travels with a crate. If no crate is traveling with the animal, crates can usually be borrowed for transport usage.
The need for transport assistance is often advertised on the following Yahoo groups: I-94_Rescue_and_Transport , I29-Transport , NorthDakotaAnimalRescue and Minnesota Animal Rescue. If transporting an animal in need is something you would like to assist with, we strongly encourage you to sign up and monitor these yahoo groups and contact whoever the coordinator is. Please email Kish if you have further questions.
