Joey's time was up at a regional pound. A staff member at the vet clinic where he was taken to for euthanizing thought he was a nice dog and decided to save him. She contacted us for help in finding him a new home.

Joey is good with other dogs and cats, doesn't mind being kenneled, and seems to have a hunting background

Please read his foster feedback for more info.

Joey needs a foster home he is currently being cared for at a local boarding facility.

April 22nd Volunteer Feedback - One of our volunteers took Joey out to the dog park for a couple hours this afternoon. Joey did very well with all of the dogs. He seemed to enjoy the new smells and had fun running with the other dogs at the park. Joey rides very nice in the car, happy to look out the window or lay down in the back seat. He was a great companion for the dog park today!

April 18th Volunteer Feedback - Joey attended his first adoption days and what a good boy he was! He is a very happy boy! Like a typical labrador his tail wagged the entire time. He loved kids, he laid on his back for many good belly rubs from people of all ages. He appears to do fine with dogs (some not neutered male dogs may need slow introductions, but that is fairly common and it was his first adoption event) and ignored the cats at adoption days (however, they were behind glass). We will attempt to get him more interaction with cats to see how he reacts, but initial feelings from volunteers were good. For a dog his size, he doesn't pull hard on the leash. He is VERY treat motivated, which should make training commands much easier. Joey responds to sit consistantly and wants to please his handler. He most likely in the past had some obedience training. He laid down in the car on his way to adoption day, so he is a good passenger in the car. Joey is a very nice boy who deserves a very nice home!

Joey LOVES to have his belly rubbed!

Joey sits nicely for a treat!
