July 13th - Abbey has a really sweet face and is always smiling and wagging her tail. She's very calm for the most part. She is a fetch master, getting the ball and running right back to drop it at your feet. She was barking at me to throw the ball, so I was making her wait until she sat quietly and made eye contact, she caught on real fast that no bark = ball throw. I have no idea how old she is, but she looks like an old lady. She doesn't act like one though! She is VERY spunky when appropriate, like playing and running around the yard. She totally hates the kennel. She will go right in, but is does bark when she is in there, so kennel training needs a little work. She knows "sit" and kinda "stay" and "go get it". She LOVES kids. She met 5 today ages 2-8 and was nice to all of them, sitting nicely while they pet her. She is appropriate with other dogs, meets and plays nicely. She appeared to ignore cats. No surprise, when I went in the fridge to get a hot dog to lure her into her kennel, she knew immediatley what a hot dog was, going to the crisper drawer and bumping her nose into it and then sitting. She will make a wonderful dog for a loving family!
